Meet Alicia
Psychotherapist
Alicia de la Vega, LCSW
Alicia has been practicing psychotherapy for over 12 years and works primarily with adults and couples navigating trauma, depression, life transitions, and complex relationship dynamics. She began her clinical career working with Veterans and their families for over seven years, in roles spanning oncology, inpatient medicine and psychiatry, specialty mental health, and ultimately as program manager for a specialty mental health clinic.
Her work is grounded in evidence-based trauma treatment and relational models. Alicia has training in Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for depression, and Social Skills Training. She is currently completing formal training and consultation in EMDR and incorporates EMDR-informed approaches in her clinical work.
She earned her master’s degree from Arizona State University Downtown and her undergraduate degree in Women and Gender Studies from ASU Tempe. Originally from Alaska, Alicia has lived in the Valley for over 20 years. She brings a grounded, direct, and thoughtful presence to therapy. She values depth, curiosity, and precision in clinical work.
Alicia has a particular interest in working with women and LGBTQ clients who have felt cast as the “problem” in their families. She is attentive to power, roles and unspoken dynamics - and works to help clients untangle inherited narratives from their lived experience.
